GLASCOTT

It is not known exactly when Richard (Dick) Glascott arrived on the Richmond River, but he was definitely in the locality by 1863. Dick worked in the timber of the Big Scrub, in particular around Emigrant Creek. In 1863, Dick married Maria King (daughter of Richard King & Sarah Brown).

They had at least one child: Alice (1866 Richmond River). Alice married John Mcleod in 1888. This was also the year in which Dick died. Maria died at the grand age of 92 in 1939, at Ballina.
